COUNSELLING CAN HELP!
Are you looking for a counsellor in Chelmsford, Essex? Today I was compared to Mary Poppins, not that I have a propensity to burst into song or fly through the air with the aid of an umbrella, but because as a counsellor once a client no longer feels they need me anymore, my counselling job is done and I move on. This is the role of a good psychotherapist, being present for the client whilst they are working through their issues and helping them achieve confidence and the ability to cope on their own.
Prospective clients may have problems at work, home, school, it maybe something that has happened in the past, is current or they are worrying about the future. However, speaking to someone who is unbiased, non-judgmental and detached from the situation but who is empathetic to their problems can be very beneficial.
The old saying “A problem shared is a problem halved” has never felt truer. Just by speaking about what worries you, and having someone listen can sometimes be the catalyst to change.
For some people it is easy to catastrophise issues, thinking the worst, seeing things in a negative way, lying awake planning the disaster which may await. This may be because of past disappointments or the way they have learnt to deal with life but this negative thought process can be changed. By using various types of psychotherapy, a client can learn ways to cope with the issues that are affecting them, these tools and techniques can be used in other situations to facilitate a happier life. By giving a client the control to change the way they feel and how they response to others, also boosts confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.
If you’re feeling in need of someone to talk to about your problems or the issues that are affecting you, why not give me a ring or send me an email.
